How-To Prep your nails:
Share
The first thing people forget to do when they are applying their press on nails is PREPPING the nails for the application. Do not miss this step, it is really important for your nails to last longer and look professionally done.
STEP #1: Wash and dry your hands.
Wash your hands to remove any dirt and oil from the base of the nail. Why is it important to do this? This is because removing oils help the press on nails last longer.
STEP #2: Cut and file your nails.
Using a nail clipper, trim down as much of your nail as you'd like. If you do not want to trim your nails you can skip this step. After you have trimmed your nails, use a nail filer to file your nails into your desired shape. Do not worry to much about this step, it just helps the press on nail sit better on your natural nail. For the best results use our glass nail filer for sealing the keratin layers together at the edge of the nails and minimise chipping.
Note: Well manicured nails look best with our more clear based nails.
STEP #3: Push back your cuticles.
Grab your cuticle pusher that comes in the kit because this is one of the most important steps for prepping your nails. Using the cuticle pusher, push back your cuticles. We do this so the press on nail can sit flat on your nail bed. Proceed to clean your nails accordingly.
STEP #4: Use a nail file.
The nail file helps smooth and dry your natural nail for an easier application. Gently rub the nail file on each of your nails, especially from the back of your nail.
STEP #5: Alcohol Pad.
Using the alcohol pad that comes in your kit, gently rub down on each nail. This helps to remove any excess oils that were left on your nails for an easier application. P.S. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR NAIL BEDS AFTER, it can loosen the press on nail because of oil transfer.
